Mixing documentary and personal memories, the work portrays the floodâstricken Indian cityâ¨of Mumbai after the monsoon of 2005. The artist revisits the neighborhood from which the work takes its name and uses it to piece together a mosaic that is, at once, a portrait of devastationâ¨and its emotional consequences, and an analysis of the crumbling of personal sanctuaries, in a universal sense.
