Douglas Welbat hails from a family of actors and is the son of Alexander Welbat and Siegrid Hackenberg. After completing his acting training under Karl Paryla, he initially worked in the theater before establishing himself primarily as a radio drama writer, voice actor, and producer. In the early 1980s, together with Katja BrĂŒgger and Bertram von Boxberg, he wrote the radio drama adaptations of the Dan Shocker series *Larry Brent* and *Macabros* for the label Europa—works that achieved widespread popularity. In addition to his work as a voice actor and writer, Welbat also serves as a producer and managing director of the production companies movieCompany and ZipfelmĂŒtzenfilm GmbH. His son, Daniel Welbat, is also active in the film and music industries.
