AndrĂ©s Cassinello PĂ©rez was a Spanish army general and intelligence officer who played an influential behind-the-scenes role during Spainâs transition from dictatorship to democracy. A senior figure in the SECED, the predecessor of todayâs Spanish intelligence services, he was involved in key political and security operations during the late Franco period and the early years of democratic reform.
