JosĂ© Celso Martinez CorrĂȘa (Araraquara, March 30, 1937 â SĂŁo Paulo, July 6, 2023), known as ZĂ© Celso, was a Brazilian director, actor, playwright and director. Working â whether directing, adapting, or actually in collaboration â with names ranging from Augusto Boal, Henriette Morineau, Fernanda Montenegro, SĂ©rgio Britto, Raul Cortez, Bete Coelho and FlĂĄvio ImpĂ©rio to Chico Buarque, William Shakespeare, Nelson Rodrigues, Max Frisch, Bertolt Brecht and MĂĄximo Gorki, ZĂ© Celso built one of the most original journeys on Brazilian stages.
