When characters don't know why their lives are falling apart

I loved Caché and instantly became a fan of Michael Haneke. I started exploring his other films, looking for similar characters who are trapped in situations caused by reasons they don’t fully understand. I think Oldboy fits this theme as well. What else would you recommend adding to the list?
